Alexis Rassine (1919-1992). Born in modern-day Lithuania and raised in Lithuania, Russia and South Africa, Rassine trained with Olga Preobrazhenskaya, Stanislas Idzikowski and Vera Volkova. He first joined Ballet Rambert, then joined the Sadler’s Wells Ballet. He danced many roles with the company, but was known for dancing the Bluebird in Sleeping Beauty.

Autograph written on a piece of cardboard. Acquired alongside a programme from a performance of Coppélia, in which Rassine danced Franz.
