Contemporary reports in the Liverpool Mercury show that these performances never went ahead, due to management issues that resulted in some of the performers not turning up. The performers who were in Liverpool performed Verdi’s Il Trovatore on the Saturday, but at the Prince of Wales Theatre instead of the Alexandra.
